ShedQueen77 Posted January 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2010 I'm ashamed to admit I don't remember the time frame it took to get us there. I guess I had other things on my mind! :D My husband I were married on Foul Bay Beach two years ago. We are returning to Barbados next year for our third anniversary and want to make a return trip to where we got married. I know swimming is not an option on this beach, so we wanted to visit for a while and head to a beach to do some swimming and lounging. Does anyone know the estimated distance/travel time from Bridgetown to Foul Bay and possibly have a recommendation for a beach we can stop at afterward? We wanted to do the turtle swim, but I don't think time will allow it after our Foul Bay trip. Thank you in advance.
Aplmac Posted January 18, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2010 Foul Bay and Crane are much the same thing - 45 mins. to an hour from the Port to those two locations..depending on traffic and who's driving. And since you're down that side of the island, you might contemplate either Miami Beach at Oistins or Accra/Rockley... for beach after.. . . ShedQueen77 Posted January 18, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted January 18, 2010 Thank you! I felt like such a dolt for not remembering how far Foul Bay was from the port! :D I remember looking at Accra when we were scoping out wedding locations. Are Miami and Accra pretty much comparable when it comes to amenities and such? I can't tell you how much we love Barbados. The people we met along the way on our wedding day totally sold us on this beautiful island! :) We're hoping to retire there someday, if we're lucky. ShedQueen77 Posted January 22, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted January 22, 2010 Curious! Why do you say this? Very strong undertows and rough surf. Swimming isn't recommended there unless you are a very strong swimmer, which in my family that leaves only me.
