cbilbrough Posted January 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2005 Has anyone spent Thanksgiving Day in St. Thomas? I am considering booking a cruise that would be in St. Thomas on Thanksgiving Day but I am worried that everything will be closed.
CaribbeanBlue Posted January 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2005 Government offices such as the Post Office, judicial center, and banks will be closed for the holiday. But business's frequented by tourists will be open. A few of the smaller artist shops may be closed. So unless you get this overwhelming urge to get a USVI drivers license ,want to do banking or need the post office you should have no problem. The holidays are a wonderful time to visit St Thomas! Rogocop Posted January 17, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2005 We were in St. Thomas for Thanksgiving Day in 2003 aboard the Paradise. We took Godfreys tour and shopped in the morning. Alot of the stores were closing at noon. It worked out very well and we spent the afternoon touring and swimming. There was something to be said for spending Thanksgiving in St. Thomas....certainly something to be thankful for.....After sailing we said it would be our last cruise on Thanksgiving since we missed fixing the turkey.....well we took off for 2004, but we just booked the Navigator of the Seas for Thanksgiving week. Looks like we started a new family tradition and will be doing this every other year.......we love it. Rogocop
