docking in Alaskan ports

Wondering if the ship docks at a pier or if you have to board a boat to get to shore. This is my first time going to Alaska and just my second cruise.

Thanks for info.

Ketchican - dock

Juneau - dock

Skagway - dock

Sitka - tender

Seward - dock

Port Rupert - dock

So, docks except at Sitka.

Acutally, Ketchikan is either a docking or tender port. Four ships can dock there and last September, the Mariner was the fifth ship to arrive in Ketchikan so we tendered in.
