Cozumel after dark

We will be arriving in Cozumel at 1 pm and departing at 10 pm. We want to snorkel and have heard great things about Nachi Cocum and the beach. Can anyone tell me how long it will take to get off the ship and will it be worthwhile to pay for a beach excursion when they close at 5 pm? Any suggestions of what to do in Cozumel after dark? We would really love to bar hop or find a great party after snorkeling!

We are also in same situation, sailing on Carnival Imagination and reaching Cozumel at 1 PM.

We want to do Snorkeling and anything else that we get time for. My questions are same what time we will be able to get off the ship?

Do any beaches stay open past 5?
Like PB Tom has said, the beaches are open 24 hours, it is the beach clubs that close at 5:00PM

Would you say an AI is worth it?
ONLY if you drink a fair amount.

You're probably not going to have enough time to enjoy an AI type of a place like Nachi. But if your ship's time is Eastern it'll only be noon in Cozumel. So you get off the ship and to a beach by 2P Eastern/ 1P Central, you'll still have 4 hours to enjoy a beach.

So any of the none AI beach clubs could work. Paradise Beach, Playa Palencar, the Money Bar, Playa Corona, Chankanaab all work. Then head back to the ship, change and head into San Miguel. Plenty of bars to barhop around. Walk around the main plaza and try out a few different spots. Or just have a nice dinner at La Choza , Cafe Denis, or Kintes or other restaurant. Avoid, like the plague, the tourista traps at the piers.

Do you know if snorkeling is offered at any of the non AI beach clubs you listed above? Paradise, Playa, etc? If you've been what are your top recomendations?

You can snorkel at any beach club if you don't really care about the quality of the snorkeling. Beach clubs that have a sandy beach that goes out into the water will have poor snorkeling. Clubs that have a rock shore line will have the better snorkeling. You want to look at Dzul Ha/Money Bar, Playa Uvas, and the little mentioned Playa Azul with is north past the downtown area.
