Early flight, no problem

We just got back off the Pearl. Did the early walk off with our bags and was at our gate at Miami airport at 8:20am. If you can carry your own bags off this is a great way to go. No searching for bags at the pier, waiting on your number to be called, long lines at airport(none when we got there).

Wow unbelievable I think you get the award for the earliest at the gate. The ship must have cleared customs early did it?

We were told we could get off starting at 7:45am, we went down about 730 and walked right off so apparently they clear customs pretty early. They hadn't even started unloading luggage when we went by luggage area. This is the only way to go if you're able to carry your bag/bags

That is true for last week. The official announcement didn't come until about 7:30 but we saw walk offs as early as 6:45. We were off by 7:20. But we also had a medical emergency at sea last week which stopped the ship for several hours. The Captain was able to make the time up and we did come in early. But due to such emergencies at sea and many other problems that can cause a ship to be late into port like engine problems, rescue at sea, passenger overboard last day, etc. to book a flight before noon would be risky IMO. Just as planes and trains can be late, ships can too!

The medi-vac was the day before GSC. Had no effect on arrival in Miami.
