Beckyfaye-2008 Posted January 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2010 We will be visiting, Cyprus, Syria, Egypt & Israel, what currency will we need, and is this available to be purchased on the ship (Thomson Spirit), against our on board account, or separately. I realise the exchange rate may not be as good as we can get at home. Also will they accept any un used currency, to help pay off our account. On P&O we could pay off any un used currency against our on board account (notes only, no coin)
jenny wren Posted January 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2010 We are also going on this cruise but hadn't thought about currency yet so glad you mentioned it!! We know Egyptians will accept anything dollars, euros or sterling...Israel will probably accept dollars (but their currency is shekels I think) and Cyprus Euros ....so its just Syria ....we will be doing ships trips in all ports so we won't need much of the currency anyway just for souvenirs or a coffee I think..
