cancelled shore excursions

If you book a shore excursion through Carnival and it is cancelled, does CCL give you your money back or do they put it on ship credit? I called Carnival and rep on phone wasnt sure.

Ship credit.

We were given ship credit, as we did not spend the amount of the "refund" the remaining amounts were credited back to the credit card we used when booking the excursion.

just also an FYI on this.,, if they give you back a ship credit for anything and you dont USE it,, you will get the refund back in cash or check at the end of the cruise dependant upon the amount...

Depends on when it is canceled. If before sailing it is a refund to CC, is while you are on board, then it is a fully refundable OBC.

good to know. Since we are taking a shore excursion in Alaska and were advised it gets cancelled about 40% of the time and it is very expensive, wanted to know policy. There is no way we'd use all this onboard credit if it gets cancelled.
