2theship Posted May 24, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2004 We'll be on the 6/18 Voyager and my husband has a question - sometimes, to avoid having to take a lot of cash with us, he'll go to the casino cashier and get some cash with his ship charge. This is what he uses to pay tips on the last night. On Celebrity, he could do this and there was no surcharge. On the QM2, they charged an extra 3%. The convenience is not worth it if there's a surcharge. I know he can do it at the purser's desk but there's no line in the casino. until the Voyager of the Seas
grizzy Posted May 24, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2004 No charge. Just walk up to the cashier and use your SeaPass to get some cash. Chris Pics of my 2004 Explorer cruise----> http://community.webshots.com/user/grizzyfla
reggierail Posted May 24, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2004 It will be treated as a regular purchase and not as a cash advance. I believe you can charge up to $2000 per day. I was on the Monarch less than 2 months ago and the tips were not added to your Seapass unless you requested it. grizzy Posted May 24, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 24, 2004 Ummmm, we just sailed two weeks ago and can tell you tips were not automatically put on your SeaPass. I've never heard of RCI doing that. serene56 Posted May 24, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 24, 2004 I sailed the Voyager last Septemeber and they were on there. THey were posted on the tv the very first day. Maybe they dont do that for the smaller ships. or maybe my honey went to the pursers desk to have that taken care of first thing when boarding. NOw i have to check. grizzy Posted May 24, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 24, 2004 I'll put my money on your honey doing it up front. Tips are not mandatory and the amounts are just suggestions. Ship size is not an issue...I've been on Voyager twice and Explorer once. Trust me this board would've exploded or will explode if that was RCI's policy.
