corfu dasia beach on your own

Corfu is pretty small, and it is easy to rent a car there and DIY.

The Princess Excursion takes you to Dassai Resort where you can use their beach or their pools. Has anyone tried to do this on their own by finding their own way to the resort and paying a day rate? Do they have such a thing? The Princess Excursion is only 4 hours long meaning it's probably 45 minutes hoarding everyone on a bus and getting you there leaving you with maybe 2 hours on the beach and then 45 minutes back. We'd like to have more beach time if it's a beautiful day!

We were thinking of doing it, but after speaking with some of the crew, they suggested that Glyfada was a nicer beach. I believe that Dasia is more pebbles, while Glyfada is all sand. We got a cab to the beach and made arrangements to be picked up at a certain time. We paid when we got back to the port.

Thanks for the recommendation ..... did they have lounges & umbrellas there you could rent or did you hang out on a blanket the whole time? And how far from the ship would you say this was -- 20 minutes? 45 minutes? Just trying to figure out the timing. Thanks again.

It was about a 20-30 minute cab ride. We rented lounges and umbrellas. There are also a couple of tavernas , right at the beach, where you can get a very decent lunch, for not too much.
