renting a car at Miami port

Hi All,

 

We will be getting off the Liberty of the Seas on a Sunday morning, and we will need to rent a car. What advice can you give me? It will be a one-way rental from Miami up to Melbourne, FL. I would like to be able to walk or take a short taxi ride to a car rental company. Any advice?

Hertz, Avis and Enterprise have downtown Miami locations near POM. A $25 cab ride will get you to any of the car rental locations near Miami airport. Good luck!:)

Hertz seems to be cheaper than everyone else. $50/day for a one-way from Downtown Miami.

We arrived in Miami on Feb. 1 and found the Hertz location downtown to be more of a pain than it would have been to just go the airport and rent there.

We waited half an hour for the shuttle, finally took a taxi, then stood on the street (in the rain) while we waiting another 30 min for them to process the 4 people in line ahead of us.

We didn't let it ruin our wonderful trip, but I do think that in the future we'd just catch one of the many shuttles heading the airport and rent there.
