allelect Posted February 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2010 Just got back from the 1/31/10 Independence cruise. For anyone, like us, who needs internet access at ports of call, we found a wonderful internet cafe at Costa Maya. It is brand new called Bazar, and is located just beyond the immediate tourist area (walking distance) toward Mahahual. Mr. Hector Espinoza, the proprietor, is very friendly and helpful. We paid about $6 for 30 minutes. $10 gets you one hour.
reggae Posted February 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2010 We plan to take the bus/cab to Mahahual. If we wanted to go to this Internet Cafe, would it be best to walk there, then take a cab to Mahahual? Thanks, we'll be there in about 12 days! crischickie Posted February 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2010 Mamasita's Banditas (or Bandita's Mamasitas) --one of the bars at Costa Maya has free wifi on the 2nd floor. Just buy a couple of beers and nachos and enjoy the view and breezes. Much better deal than $10/ hour
9603FL Posted March 1, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2011 We got off the Carnival Dream (2/25/11) and took the shuttle bus ($3 one way) to the town of Majahual (about 5 minutes). We got off the bus and onto the beach right away. If you walk down the boardwalk for about 5 blocks to CALLE CHERNA St (on this side street you will find a Money Changer). Right next to the money changer is a new and very nice cafe called K@rlita's. The owner, OTTO, is an American and very nice. He has three computers you can log onto or use your own laptop. He charges $2 an hour. He even treated us to a desert that was fantastic.
