DammitKim Posted February 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2010 Yes, I am a noob, and yes, I have scoured other threads and posts looking for the answer to this question. I just really need to make sure I am not missing something here.. I am embarking on a Carnival cruise less than 2 weeks and I want to make sure I have the proper paperwork all set! Do I need anthing other than the following to get on the boat?: Passport (and secondary ID if needed) FunPass (and credit card to activate it) Cruise Documents Printout Baggage Tags on all checked bags Just trying to be prepared for embarkation! Thanks all!
smeyer418 Posted February 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2010 depends on where you are leaving from but generally the minimum is your id(passport is sufficient) other than that its all in the computer... cash or credit card. so what you list is more than enough.... sparky-elpaso Posted February 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2010 I wouldn't put the cruise tags on your luggage until you are ready to board the ship. They may get torn off during your flight.
Traveler353 Posted February 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2010 Passport (and secondary ID if needed) Yes FunPass (and credit card to activate it) Yes Cruise Documents Printout Only if you want to print them out, not needed to board the ship Baggage Tags on all checked bags Not necessary to print them out,you can get them from the porters
DammitKim Posted February 11, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted February 11, 2010 Thanks all! Looks like I am more prepared than I need to be! And yes, I am attaching the baggage tags after our flight. Thanks again!
Rare silentbob007 Posted February 11, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2010 You also need a credit card or cash to put down as a deposit when you check-in. You'll need your FunPass and passport generally to enter the terminal building.
DammitKim Posted February 11, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted February 11, 2010 Actually, here's another noob question... I am planning on bringing a small case of water and a container of soy milk (along with my bottle allowed wine). I know I need to keep the wine in my carry-on, but should I also carry the water and soy milk with me? Or should I check it to my room?
rjm1cc Posted February 11, 2010 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2010 You might need a visa from one of the countries you are visiting. Might want to add those to your post.
elektroshok Posted February 11, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 11, 2010 You might need a visa from one of the countries you are visiting. Might want to add those to your post. How can you find out if you need a visa for a certain port?
cruzeluver Posted February 11, 2010 #10 Share Posted February 11, 2010 You might need a visa from one of the countries you are visiting. Might want to add those to your post. Assuming the OP is a US citizen and is sailing in the Caribbean, no visas are required.

Just a passport to almost all countries except Libya. If you need a visa you can get it there.....

imsulin Posted February 12, 2010 #14 Share Posted February 12, 2010 A couple of small pieces of advice.....make sure your Passport doesn't expire within six months of the end of your cruise. Also, don't fill out and sign your CC information (on that convenient page in your little blue documents book) until you actually board. If you should accidentally drop or lose it, all the info. is there for anyone to use. Enjoy your cruise!!
