What to do with my things....

I carry a small beach bag on deck and a large beach bag to beaches in port. Do whatever makes you comfy. But I carry sunscreen, a book, and a bottle of water, plus an ipod or iphone., and anything I pick up from the shops.

You can use your iphone on a cruise? I thought cell phones would not work on the boats?

You can, but you pay $2.50 a minute (there's a cell tower on each ship) while at see. I checked AT&T's site to see what the cost would be for me to use the internet. I forget what it was, but it is hella expensive. I'd suggest putting your iphone on airplane mode. I enable the wifi while in ports. I'm always able to pick up free wifi somewhere.

I carrry a cloth drawstring backpack (folds easily in suitcase) and for ports we take a rolling backpack (we use this as a carryon).Instead of the over the neck lanyard we use the retractable lanyards from office supply store.

Don't forget an extra pair of flipflops..

an absolute must for reserving 2 chairs by the pool.

I prefer to use my uneaten oranges and/or bananas from breakfast to place onto the chairs. But flip flops work well too! ;)

About the lanyard, the casino one is not what you think. It is a plastic chain that clips to you and to your card, it is extremely hard to wear around your neck, although possible. I recommend getting one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Custom-Accessories-44447-Retractable-Chain/dp/B000BQULWK

The Casino lanyard (stretchy coil) works well as a wristlet with the SS card. A friend of mine wears hers like that...as opposed to around the neck.

I'm doing gift baskets for the other 2 girls and I was curious about what to do with the stuff, so now I guess I can add that to their basket! Thanks for the reply!

When DH and I got married on the Glory we did gift "baskets" for each of our guests but used beach totes to put everything in instead of baskets. Everyone really liked them because they were so useful.

You can use it as an MP3 player, they have games on them, lots of uses besides as a phone.

BTW to stay on topic, OP, consider the pool deck just like the pool at home or at the beach, though IMO things are a bit safer. I feel like you can safely leave your things on your chair while you are in the pool, or when you run to the bar or restroom.
