lady_cruiser Posted February 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2010 Lets start a new thread going here. How about telling every one which cabin you liked on which deck and don't forget the ship's name, And why you liked it... In the title it might help if we put the ship's, cabin number and deck. The next post will be mine.
lady_cruiser Posted February 12, 2010 Author #2 Share Posted February 12, 2010 We just had this cabin the week of January 10, 2010. It is a forward cabin and port-side. While we had a lot of walking to do to get to the Aft side of the ship our cabin was quiet, near the stairs and elevators and we had very little traffic in our area. And the way it was situtated when we came off the elevator or up the stairs we just had to look to the right or left, look for our pink flamigos on our door and we knew exactly which cabin was ours. In fact many people stopped and told us because of our flamigos they knew which side of the ship they needed to walk to, to get to their cabins. We would recommend this cabin to anyone interested in it.

HinesL Posted February 13, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2010 On our trip to Alaska on HAL Veendam, we had aft cabin 223. Big balcony(but did not go clear around) and a very quiet corner of the ship. Would love to do another aft cabin but this was an upgrade and we normally would not be able to afford to book it. GoldWest Posted February 16, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2010 Carnival Triumph 7284. Several rooms away from elevators, never heard them, sandwiched between rooms. The only noise we heard was when someone walked down the hall talking, didn't even hear that in the middle of the night. Felt very little movement, plenty of room and storage too. live2dive45 Posted February 28, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2010 Cabin 6340 on RCCL Freedom OTS is a terriffic cabin. It is one of the "hump" balcony rooms on the Freedom class ships. 6340 is situated at the apex of the hump allowing awesome views of the ship fore and aft, especially as she is sailing along. Very quiet too as there is nothing below the cabin as she "juts out" off the side of the ship and just another stateroom above. Another bonus is she is just one deck above and at the begining of the aft end of the Royal Promade. Would book this cabin again in a heartbeat. lady_cruiser Posted March 1, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted March 1, 2010 Lady_Cruiser = Carnival Voyager???? I can't believe I did this again . The cabin was on the Carnival CONQUEST. I was looking at bookings on RCL's Voyager at the same time and had two broswers open. I almost sent John H, senior cruise director for Carnival, an E-Mail telling him about my most memorial moment on the Conquest and typed in Voyager instead. Its a good thing that I caught that mistake in time.
trctjs Posted March 2, 2010 #10 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Carnival Conquest 8404 was a great room. Really close to the elevators and was pretty quiet. :)

lady_cruiser Posted August 4, 2010 Author #12 Share Posted August 4, 2010 I am just trying to revive this thread again. There are so many great cabins out there that I hate to see this thread die. Okay cruisers - tell us which cabin you had that you would recommend to the rest of us.
lady_cruiser Posted August 4, 2010 Author #13 Share Posted August 4, 2010 We had cabin 1058 on the Conquest and loved it. It was right near the stairs and the elevators and even though the cabin stewards' supply closet was right across the hall from us it was very quiet. Okay cruisers - tell us which cabin you had that you would recommend to the rest of us. Our Balcony cabin was very quiet, except once when we heard some chairs being moved above. Once is seven days, not bad at all.

No noise or motion problem.
CrusinCyndi Posted August 5, 2010 #16 Share Posted August 5, 2010 Wonderfully quiet suite at the back of the ship. Balcony wraps around and is to die for. DH and I will probably never sail again in anything else. Have her sister ship the Pride booked for Oct 2011 but in cabin 4237 on the opposite side. Did it feel private to you? We just booked this cabin on the Liberty and I was concerned that it open to the decks above.
cb at sea Posted March 30, 2012 #18 Share Posted March 30, 2012 This JS is listed as "partially obstructed"...but have no fear! There is a ladder and window-washing platform that hangs ABOVE your head at the rear of the balcony. It obstructs nothing! Plus, there is a recessed area to the rear of the balcony....shaded and perfect for napping. We had the standard 2 chairs, a slightly larger patio table than the other JS's and a lounge chair. I was worried about the "obstruction" until I saw it....so don't let the description dissuade you from this cabin!
PreciousCruiser Posted April 5, 2012 #19 Share Posted April 5, 2012 NCL Spirit - 9106, balcony, starboard side. Great location, midship. So convenient to everything. Absolutely loved this cabin. Ruthieofthesea Posted May 2, 2012 #21 Share Posted May 2, 2012 The S class ships have amazing hump balconies. 1610, 1608 and 1606 are very nice. For quiet rooms off the elevator, 2101,2,3 or 2102,4, 6 are very quiet. The newest ships, the Silhouette and the Reflection have different set-ups due to the AQ suites. Traveling Dot Posted May 2, 2012 #22 Share Posted May 2, 2012 This cabin was on the starboard side and was close to the Aft elevators which went down to the Dining Room or up to the Lido. The Oosterdam is a very long ship so it was a long walk to other areas of the ship (Casino, Crow's Nest, Fitness Center, etc), but if you went to the middle elevators (also known as the scenic elevators) and went up or down the walk didn't seem that long. The Veranda was sheltered from the wind by the other verandas and I was able to sit out there even on sea days.
Traveling Dot Posted May 2, 2012 #23 Share Posted May 2, 2012 This cabin was on the port side of the ship and on the Main Deck. It is a outside full window view cabin near the forward elevators. This one is a little more forward than I like to be but it was a cabin for three as our son was traveling with us. The Stadendam is a mid size ship and everything was within easy walking distance. CruiseCrazy58 Posted May 3, 2012 #24 Share Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) Inside Forward cabins, Category 1D, 143 Square feet. These cabins are on the very middle deck of the ship height-wise. They have availability for a 3rd person, but do not have sofas in the cabins. They are right next to the front elevators for convenience, with no noise from the elevators. Quiet location. Very small rooms compared to other ships' cabins. Edited May 3, 2012 by CruiseCrazy58 wrong spelling
CruiseCrazy58 Posted May 3, 2012 #25 Share Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) Inside, Mid Ship Cabin, Category 4C, 185 Square Feet. This cabin is on the very bottom of the ship, which is good if you don't want to feel ship movement. No sitting area or sofa. Quiet location. :) Edited May 3, 2012 by CruiseCrazy58 forgot to attach picture
