nesheiml Posted February 13, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2010 September 11 is National Day of Catalonia. We are planning on visiting Montserrat that day. Will any of the areas be closed for the holiday?
riffatsea Posted February 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2010 You will definitely be able to visit Montserrat that day. The only thing I am not sure of is if the choir will sing.
nesheiml Posted February 13, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted February 13, 2010 would it be better to visit sites in the city on 9/11 and Montserrat on 9/10? we are planning on doing the HOHO bus tour on 9/10 to see the city.
riffatsea Posted February 13, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2010 I think your original plan will be fine. I think most of the ceremonies for that day will be in the city and I think stores may be closed. The choir is only a very short 15min. or so performance so not something to make or break the visit. More important is the weather. You want to go on a nice clear day!!
grmmybtty Posted February 13, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2010 We will be in BCN on 9/11 also. Are there any special festivities in the city or would a day trip to Montserrat or Penedes be a better option?
Normandie-BCN Posted February 13, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2010 September 11th is a political holyday, not a popular feast. It is like any sunday.
