Getting cash while on board?

I was wondering if there is anyway to charge your shipboard account to get cash. Or, alternatively, if there are ATMs on board?

Basically I am looking for a way to get more cash if I run out, with the lowest transaction costs. I realize you don't really need money on board, it is for while in port.

I'll be on the Sapphire Princess if that is relevant.

There is usually an ATM in the casino, but you can't count on it working or not running out of money.

You can not go to the purser's desk and get cash charged to your shipboard account, it can't be done.

You can though go to the casino cage and get cash but you are charged a 3% fee. Although it will be charged to your account onboard and to your credit card at the end of the cruise as a purchase and not a cash advance. ;)

Your best bet is to bring cash with you. The ATM fee in the casino is fairly high compared to home. There is a safe in your room so you can lock up the cash.

I normally don't bring much cash and use my VISA debit card. You may want to notify your bank in advance so they don't cancel your card due to out of country charges showing up all of a sudden.

One way is to set up a slot machine account, charge $100 to it, cash out and get money from the cage. You needn't have played at all and there is no service fee involved.

ATM fees are not a problem if you are using the right bank. :D Both Capital One and Schwab Bank refund all ATM fees so you can use any ATM in the world for free. I personally use Schwab Bank and opened my account via mail. I transfer money into the account from my primary bank account by phone. It's so simple and easy. I originally opened the account to save money on fees during my European cruise but now use it as my emergency ATM card now.
