First time cruise question

We are booked on a cruise to the Bahamas out of New Orleans in Sept. and i'm trying to figure flight and hotel arrangements. Can anyone give me some info. i'm not sure where to stay and how best to get to the hotel from the airport and the ship from the hotel. :confused: Thanks in advance.

hotwire has cheap hotels if you want to take a taxi.

 

We stayed at the Drury which we loved. They have a online rate discount if you dont need cruise parking. It is beautiful and we walked to the port (quite rough on your suitcases, so we taxi'd back) and could walk all thru French Qtr from there. They have a free happy hour with 3 strong drinks and food like chicken and egg rolls free at night, free 1 hour long distance, beautiful rooms and convienent.

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn French Quarter and got free cruise parking... but had to take a cab to the pier... EASY and in walking distance to restaurants and FUN FUN FUN!!!
