Beach Towels...to pack or not to pack....

I have always brought my own beach towels on a cruise....I am wondering now with all the fees for luggage if this is really necessary?

 

Can you "borrow" the towels from the ship? Is this ok?

There are big thick (but yes heavy) beach towels provided in the cabin every day. We take those to the beach and keep getting fresh ones rather than bringing our own wet, sandy towels each day.

Leave them home - your cabin attendant will provide them for use on excursions.

All the cruises i have been on supplied the beach towels for you. You give them room number they issue towels. Why would you bring your own and hang them up in your cabin wet? Better to leave them at home.

I would not pack beach towels, they take up too much room, IMO. You can use the nice ones from your room, just don't loose them or they will charge you for them.

Yes, the blue Carnival towels can be taken off the ship. If they are lost or stolen, your S&S card will be charged $22 per towel.

 

Since we always drive to port, however, I pack some cheap $4 beach towels that I don't care about so we can use and abuse them while in port. If one gets lost or ratty, then no biggie. :cool:

FYI. You can check out additional beach towels using your s&s card on the Lido deck!!

Dont pack any. The ship will give you some to take on shore..just make sure you bring them back with you or they will charge you!

Carnival has great beach towels in the cabin you can take to the pools or off on ports. Leave them on the floor and the cabin steward will replace them with fresh ones.

 

If they are too big or you worry about loosing them, you can also take off the smaller white bath towels.

I don't bring towels either. There's always lots of them sitting on empty chairs by the pool. Just help yourself.

i do the same thing mostly because cruise towels are too heavy & bulky to carry around all day.

Since we're usually looking for "trinkets" in port, a cool beach towel makes a great souvenir and can serve a dual purpose while you travel. otherwise, I agree--the ones from the ship are easy to use and won't cause you any travel worries. Have a great time!

I always like to bring my own towel and use Carnival's towel. That way, I lay my own towel down and is easy to find among all of the different carnival towels on the beach!

I've never packed my own towels to take on a cruise but rather use the ones provided by the cruise line.

No, you do not need to bring your beach towels! Carnival has them for you to use both on and off the ship. Just don't lose them, Carnival will charge you $22 per towel if they are not returned!

Ummm, has anyone already mentioned that you can take them off the ship,

but they will charge you if you lose them.:rolleyes:

 

In fact during one of the often repeated talks you can see on your tv,

the CD will tell you to take them, so that if you are too drunk to find your

way back to the ship..just hold up your towell and the cabbies will bring you back.
