Waitlisted for dining time

I am currently wiatlisted for anytime dining on our upcoming cruise. How long beofre we hear if we have the time we requested? Is there a specific time frame..like say a month before our cruise...etc..

We are currently waitlisted for anytime dining as well and we haven't heard anything...we cruise in 23 days.

Usually you will find out within a week or two of the cruise.

My anytime dining for May 9th on the Glory has said confirmed since I booked. My last two were marked waitlisted then changed to confirmed.

And sometimes you wont find out until you get your sail and sign cards at check in.

 

Then you have to go stand in line to talk (plead your case) with the Maitre D with about 200 of your new best friends. That's 45 mins of my life I'll never get back..but I did end up getting switched the second day. Others I befriended in the same line weren't so fortunate.

 

I'm convinced that the whole wait list thing is done so that the booking agent doesn't have to tell you the preferred dining time is truly full, thereby possibly losing your booking. So just be prepared to catch more flies with honey and put your smile on to the MD and maybe you'll get lucky. :D

My booking has said "confirmed" for months now. I wonder if having it paid off makes a difference?

If I have to plead my case to the Madre D ..should I give him some cash??

Don't know exactly how it works, but If I had to go up to the maitre'd to get my dining preference, I would definitely have a fifty in my hand. Good Luck, hope it works out for you.

If he does get it changed for you, THEN feel free to tip him at the END of the cruise. I would never give him anything when asking ..He will either do it or not (depending on all other requests):rolleyes: or carry a glass of tomato juice.....

In reality, I think, one needs to plead his or her case to the Maitre'd who is not much in the mood to deal with the folks in line.

 

If you are waitlisted, just assume that you didn't get it.
