cards09 Posted March 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2010 I've seen some posts that refer to ship time being different from local time. If my ship's itinerary says we will be in Cozumel from 11:30 to 7pm, what time is that in Cozumel?
mimxmom Posted March 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2010 I have only travelled on ships that leave out of FL. It has been my experience that the ship has stayed on Eastern Time where as Cozumel is Central Time. It would probably be best to check with the cruise line to see what time your ship uses. Rare crewsweeper Posted March 4, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2010 I've seen some posts that refer to ship time being different from local time. If my ship's itinerary says we will be in Cozumel from 11:30 to 7pm, what time is that in Cozumel? It's about to get more confusing. The US changes to DST on March 14th. Cozumel doesn't change until April 4th. If you're traveling before March and your ship is on Eastern Standard time, your Cozumel time will be 10:30-6PM. If your traveling between March 14 and April 3rd, your Cozumel time will be 9:30 to 5PM. On and after April 4th, Cozumel time will once again be 10:30 to 6PM. Think of Cozumel as being on US Central Time. However, it is always best to keep your watch on your ship's time because the ship doesn't pay any attention to Cozumel time. And always use a watch not your cell phone which will change time zones.
