Help with Cabin Crawl PLEASE!

Recommended Posts

I need any advise or suggestions on planning a good cabin crawl. No on wants to take the lead on my cruise, and I have never done one, but I really want to have one.

So I figure I will take the lead and get one organized just need some tips / suggestions first.

PLEASE anyone who has organized one or been part of one please share.

Thanks!

We just did a cabin crawl on the last 12 day Explorer cruise. About 25+ people - kept it very informal. We had 3 seas days from NY to St. Thomas, so we did it the 2nd or 3rd sea day at 11 am - late enough for folks to be up and have their cabins cleaned. Folks volunteered to show their cabins, but that was not a requirement to participate. One person organized the cabins by location and planned out a route. We met on deck 9 and worked our way down. After we were done, we all went to lunch in the MDR at 12:30. We had a nice variety of cabins - corner aft balcony, aft balcony, and JS aft balcony, connecting balconies, connecting insides, regular balconies and JS's, and handicapped. It was lots of fun. Don't stress about it - simple is OK - you don't have to have food or gimmicks to make it fun.

I participated in a great cabin crawl in '08 on Explorer. The person who organized it solicited volunteers from our roll call, and we had almost every category covered. He created a "route" and we went from the lowest deck up to the highest. You do not have to "show" your cabin to participate. In fact, the more the merrier. We did our crawl immediately following the Meet & Mingle, since that was when everyone was together. We took pictures, had a load of fun, and I highly recommend this as a group activity. It's a lot of fun.

Steph put it all on paper or roll call - go to miracle rollcall for December 5. 2010, last page and you will find how we are going to do it. She has organized several events and they are always well run and FUN!
