How to get to SawGrass Mills

Using public transportation, you could take bus #40 from in front of your hotel to the Galleria Mall and then take bus #36 to Sawgrass Mills. Cost is regular 1.50 but various discounts available. Time of trip would depend on time of day. I would say at least hour and a half minimum. Taxi would be my choice but would not be cheap. Water taxi is not a option.

If the OP were to take the bus, she should take the #40 to the Central Bus Terminal and then take the #22 to the Sawgrass Mills Mall. This is the most direct route and would shave more than a half hour off the journey. That said, I would not recommend taking the bus to Sawgrass because of some of the neighborhoods the bus travels thru and because of some of the passengers who use the #22 bus. Same goes for the #36.

I concur with cruise control, and would not recommend taking the bus from the east side of town to Sawgrass Mills Mall... The buses go through the worst parts of town, and you will be getting out and hanging around those areas waiting for the next bus...

I would recommend either renting a car, or opting for the water taxi and Galleria Mall instead...

I agree, rent a car. We did this last year and didn't have any problems. Not sure if you're going to be doing a lot of shopping, but we appreciated having the car to store our purchases when we went for lunch.

Also, we were amazed how big the mall was (not used to that in Canada), and it was nice to be able to do shopping in one area and then drive the car to the next wing. We were there for the whole day so our feet were getting tired by the end of it!

No kidding on the size of the place. We were going to go there, and I showed my wife the google image of the mall. I said "see that little round thing to the northwest of the mall? That's the arena the NHL team plays at." Even she decided that it was too big to tackle in the time we had LOL. Or at least too big to take me to LOL.

LOL! I had printed out the directory before the cruise and mapped out my shopping plan so I'd have the most effective use of time (yes, I'm a shopaholic, and I need help). Luckily we were able to get a good rate across the street so the boys were occupied at the pool and I could shop in peace without having to hear "are you done yet?!?"
