michelle028 Posted March 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2010 Hi everyone, leaving on Liberty of the Seas next sunday...yay! Wanted to know...how long are these "formal" nights? When do they usually start? Is it just one free cocktail and appetizer? or dinner? Please let me know!
cb at sea Posted March 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2010 As long as you want...we stay dressed for the evening, because we look so damn good all dressed up! But, some will change right after dinner....seems alot of trouble! The "formal" part starts before dinner....and then, it's up to you!
Shammy1 Posted March 6, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2010 There are 2 in a week long cruise. You dress in formal attire. The dinners are a little more formal, like prime rib escagot blah blah blah. No free cocktails and the apps are always included
wkimsy Posted March 6, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2010 Can people dine in the MDR even if they are not dressed up?
michelle028 Posted March 6, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted March 6, 2010
just to confirm....so formal nights are held in the mdr? (when i was in carnival it was held somewhere else)
crcossel Posted March 7, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2010 Maybe you are confusing formal nights with the captian's reception? At the captians reception there is typically a free drink and it is held on one of the formal nights. It is held in different places depending on the ship. However, formal night, in general is just a night where everyone dresses up. Dinner is still held in the mdr. I don't remember it being any different on carnival. Cruisin4 Posted March 7, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2010 How dressed are people getting for formal nights on Liberty of the Seas. Are we talking long evening gown type dresses for woman? Or a cocktail dress? Please advise, as we have not cruised since 2003 and we are cruising on LOS in May.
