oprahcla Posted March 9, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2010 Going on the Jewel again next month. I was on it this past November and spent alot of time in the casino. I had quite a few credits that came off my shipboard credit upon departing. Once you accumulated 25 pts, you were given a card to drink free liquor while in the casino. A friend of mine just got back 2 weeks ago on the Jewel and said now you have to have 2500 credit to get anything. Was anyone aware of this, or how the credits count now while playing the slots. Your info would be appreciated. Happy Sailing to all! :)

My understanding is that when it is all said and done it takes at least two or three times the amount of gambling to get the same benefits as before. Not for sure of the exact formula, but I have read a few saying it is really tough to rack up any points to speak of.
Fishbait17 Posted March 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Basic changes in points and conversion (slots only): Used To Be: $138 run thru = 1 point 25 points minimum for cash-in 25 points for drink card Bottom Line: $3450 run thru = free drink card and $25 Now: $ 5 run thru = 1 point 2500 points minimum for cash-in 1500 points for drink card Bottom Line: $7500 run thru = free drink card $12,500 min for cash/OBC - although you get substantial bonus OBC as you go up in points. Fishbait17 Posted March 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Oops, forgot to add, they had a new reward, 1000 points got you $10 free play if you wanted instead of waiting for OBC. Robin

khall Posted March 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2010 I just got off the Dawn, and yes you have to get 2500 points to get $25 off your stateroom. I had 2510 points at the end of the cruise and ended up getting $75 taken off my stateroom bill (so I guess $50 bonus credit). Definately not as good as last year...:(

garycarla Posted March 10, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 10, 2010 captive audience, hence the "tightness". But, as far as I know, NCL is the only one to have a program at all. Could be wrong.

I agree, the program is still better than any other, and actually I did better at the slots than I have been doing at any Harrahs property lately so I guess can't complain about that :)
