MamaTene Posted March 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Taking my two grandsons 12 and 15 on Glory April 4 with stops in Belize, Roatan, Cozumel and Grand Caymen. Both of the boys are on traveling teams and are in training now. Thought it might be cool to let them hit a few at the different islands but unsure of availability. Anyone able to assist with info? Fredr Posted March 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Hello, The countries you are visiting, are not baseball playing nations. In Grand Cayman they play cricket. In Cozumel the main game is soccer and Belize I believe is also a soccer country. The Dominican Republic is the country that sends an unbelievable number of of hugely talented baseball players to the USA. And then there is Puerto Rico. I am not saying you won't find batting cages where you are visiting, just that it is unlikey that you will do so.

You should ask on the "ports of call" boards for those places. Never know....
WeBeGone Posted March 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2010 In all our cruises, I've NEVER seen a batting cage.
MamaTene Posted March 10, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Me either and we have been on at least 20. I did however get a response from a post on the Grand Cayman Port of call site that included an email to contact them as they do have a little league baseball team. I sent email this morning and will see what develops.
matj2000 Posted March 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Maybe you can get one of the "locals" to pitch to them for a bucks...
MrsPete Posted March 10, 2010 #7 Share Posted March 10, 2010 In all our cruises, I've NEVER seen a batting cage. That would be a pretty cool thing to add to the sports deck. I think it'd be popular, and it wouldn't cost nearly as much as FlowRider or the Climbing Wall.
