KyRoamer Posted March 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2010 We arrive at the cruise port early in the day and want to spend time in Rome before going on to our airport hotel for a flight out the next morning. Plus High Service, a limo service that is at the Rome Airport Hilton, has offered to pick up up at the ship and take four of us with eight pieces of luggage to Rome and then deliver our luggage to our airport hotel for 210 euros. Attempts to store the luggage in Rome have not been successful. Most hotels will only hold luggage for registered guests and the train station would cost 56 euros for 10 hours plus taxi fares to and from. My question is whether anyone has heard of, or used, Plus High Service. Its web page is romelimousineplus.com. We are looking for some comfort that our luggage will be safe in its care. A search on Plus High Service produced no results.
euro cruiser Posted March 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2010 Why not save some money and only take the limo service directly to the hotel from the port, leave your luggage, and use the Hilton's free shuttle bus into downtown Rome?
KyRoamer Posted March 11, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted March 11, 2010 Why not save some money and only take the limo service directly to the hotel from the port, leave your luggage, and use the Hilton's free shuttle bus into downtown Rome? Not quite free. The Hilton costs $328 plus tax vs. the Hilton Garden Inn at $222 and we need two rooms so $212 extra dollars later we could get a free shuttle to town worth $55 to $90 into town. The Hilton garden Inn has a free shuttle to/from the airport but not central Rome. And if we go to the airport first we lose at least 90 touring minutes in Rome.
