Keauhou Bay Trolley

Can anyone use this trolley service or is it for hotel guests only - do you need to show a pass?

If it is available to anyone, how long does the trip take and is it easy to get there and back or does it tend to get full and long waits? Thanks.

Here is a link to the trolley: http://www.andhawaii.com/keauhou-kailua-shuttle/

We did not use it, but did see it at our hotel every day. I don't know if it costs anything to use, but many cruise ship people were using it. By the way, the pier is adjacent to all shopping, you wouldn't need the trolley to find some kind of souvenier. :D

the above link gives you time of travel and stops.

Hope it helps. Enjoy your trip, I'm jealous and can't wait to go back!

Thanks for your reply. I already had the schedule just wanted to know if you had to show a hotel pass or something. Further research indicates you don't. I don't really want it for shopping but was hoping to visit the heritage center and walk through the Outrigger grounds or maybe snorkel on the beach next door. I am travelling with an elderly guest and thought it might be a fun way to travel if it wasn't too busy but I guess we can always take a taxi. Thanks again.

We stayed at the Outrigger and the grounds are beautiful!

Here is their list of events/classes, but you will have to call for th actual times of the classes.. http://www.outrigger.com/aboutus_events.aspx?prop=93

As you can see, they do walking tours of the grounds with local guides that are amazing and there are all sorts of daily programs given by locals on lei making, baskets, hierogliphs, ukelele and hula lessons, etc. Very wonderful cultural experience, and none of them involve walking except the tour of the grounds. Almost all are held right in their lobby, and they are free!

You may be better off doing the taxi, that way you can come and go when you want.
