SugarCharlotte Posted March 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2010 Where are the best places for 50-ish cruisers to enjoy themselves or to meet others of the same age....like which pool, which nightclub...etc. Thanks. Last year, we really enjoyed the aft pool area. There are tables and chairs out there and a big bar, and ICE CREAM machines. There is lovely lite rock/pop music piped in at a perfect background volume. Also, the pool and hottub are designated for Adults only. :) We spent the majority of our deck time out there. We are early 40's, not into kids or drunkenness or loud music. None of that stuff is in the aft pool area. We will be hanging out there again this Spring on our second Pride cruise! I was on the Pride in January. If you head up to the Lido deck after the buffet has closed (9PM or so), you will find a number of 50 plus couples and groups enjoying the peace and quiet to sit and chat and drink coffee (or cocktails from the aft bar) and play scrabble and cards without the cigarette smoke. If you smoke, there seemed to be similar groups at the tables poolside where smoking is allowed. Again, if you want a cocktail, you probably have to walk back to the aft bar to get it yourself and bring it to your table but it is an easy deck to navigate late in the evening. Also, the aft bar by the adult pool on the Lido deck was busy any time that I walked by - daytime or late. I can't speak for any of the night clubs, I have little kids and was usually in my cabin in the evening unless I was going up to the Lido to get ice water or taking the kids for ice cream for dessert. hb5
