What to do in Isla Catalina????

Does the Dig worth the money??? anything else to do in Nassau?? (Bahamas)

St. Thommas, I already booked with Godfrey.

In San Juan I'm looking for a Guided Tour in Old San Juan.

Which is the best place to buy fragances???

Thanks!!!!!!

We just got back from ATlantica Eastern 1/23 sailing. It was just wonderful in every way.

Catalina Island is like all the other cruise ships private islands. You tender over when ever you want. It is a big beach with lots of beach chairs (free). They have a (free) lunch between 12 and 2 pm which is very nice. A large covered picnic area where you can sit to eat. A pay bar if you want. A little entertainment (some island dancers) and you can swim in the sea. If you want, you can rent swim equipment or boats.

The ship anchors there until late afternoon when it leaves to dock at the mainland in Dominican Republic. They have a nighttime show there for which you take a bus and sit outdoors in kind of an amphitheater. We did that because the tour was free with our Perillo group. It was okay.

You can also leave on other tours from Catalina Island which take you to the mainland early in the day. The tours are listed on Costa web site(Costacruises.com) And also in your ticket book. You can book on the ship.

Then you catch the ship back on the mainland.

The San Juan port is only from 4:30 pm to late night. There is only one tour available for a city tour, and one show at night. We did not do either of these. Just walked around outside the ship There is a Sheraton across the street from the ship with a casino and also some shopping within walking distance.

We did do the Nassau Atlantis tour. It was overpriced I think ($45.00 each )

It took you from Nassau to Paradise Island on a ferry boat which was quite nice. Then walked you over to the Atlantis, took you through the hotel and down through the aquarium (digs). I think you can only go through the digs on the tour. You can tour the hotel on your own if you want, but you have to figure out how to get there on your own (ferry or taxi) if you are more adventurous (which we are not)

We did go back to the ship by taxi on our own ($4.00 per person in a van) which just seemed easier than walking several blocks back to the ferry.

St. Thomas is probably the best port in my opinion.

But the best part of this cruise was on the ship itself.
