Okay, here is my schedule for sea days:

1. Eat breakfast

2. Find a chair on the deck above the pool, on the starboard side. (cannot stand smoke)

3. Organize myself, lie down, look at my paper to figure out when I need to go to a trivia game, get my book out

4. Read

5. Go to lunch and repeat 2-4

Ah, it is the life!

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Mark Twain

1. Sleep late.

2. Breakfast in bed

3. Long leisurely hot shower.

4. Comfy wear.

5. Speciality coffee in deck chair.

6. Spy thriller book.

** Deck soon becomes to warm for comfy wear. Back to cabin to change.

7. Ice tea (too early for foo-foo drinks!)

8. Off to lunch, too casual for dining room, go to buffet.

9. Back to deck with book.

10. Foo-foo drink (s).

10. Sun burned now! Back to cabin. Foo-foo drinks have disrupted my counting ability!

11. Short nap. (Learned in kindergarten these are really good for you.)

12. Sun burn is better ... trip to hot tub, with spy thriller book ... remind myself to get perscription sun glasses!

13. At appropriate wrinkle level, depart hot tub.

14. Back to cabin, shower to smooth hot tub wrinkles.

15. Dress for dinner ... off for pre-dinner drink.

16. Try new appetizer and new soup at dinner.

17. Eat too much. Full, tired (too much reading today). Back to cabin.

18. Decide to see show. DH declines, so go alone. Enjoy show.

19. Back to cabin. Before sleep, determine to try out gym on next sea day. LOL! icon_biggrin.gif

Sleep in a little late, but get up and dressed in time to enjoy a nice breakfast in the dining room. We love to meet me people. Roam the ship with my camera in hand and take more photo's of public rooms that are usually very crowded in the evening. Take in a lecture or spa treatment or wine tasting and go to a Celebrity sponsored event. Change into a swim suit and scout out a lounge in the sun but not right near the speakers or too far away from the pool in case I want to take a dip and cool off. DH usually gets his book and relaxes on our balcony in the shade. I have made myself a "tropical drink" in my cabin and brought it to the pool area for sipping. When I tire of that beverage, its time for the Drink of the Day when a waiter catches my eye. We usually meet up for a late lunch at the buffet area, also. Late in the day, its time for a nap before pre-dinner martini's and a great dinner in the main dining room.

Bon voyage

Never been on a cruise...but I have a wishful addition.

Sit in a teak deckchair on the wraparound promenade and be tucked under a woolen blanket by an attentive steward.

Be served hot bouillon and take in the bracing North Atlantic air.

Listen to the occasional haunting notes of the foghorn coming from the first funnel, overhead.

Justin,

When I read your post, I thought you must be from England, and speaking of a cold weather cruise! Yet you're from Louisiana ... must be mighty warm there! icon_biggrin.gif

1. Have late in-room breakfast (about 9:30am).

2. Go to balconey, read books, snooze.

3. Go up top for something simple for a late lunch (like pizza or whatever) and maybe a fuu-fuu drink or a beer.

4. Go to balconey, read books, snooze.

5. Get ready for dinner.

6. Go to dinner.

Sometimes a spa or shopping trip might be inserted, but all in all thats what we want to do. Not much but listen to the ocean go by.

High seas gal, I was thinking of a crossing. And living in the almost tropics is no fun. "It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there." It is especially brought home to me every Christmas when I have to mow the grass.

Justin,

Never been to Louisiana, but was in Florida in August once, which was more than enough of heat, and humidity for this California gal. I suppose mowing the lawn at Christmas might be a chore, but I'd rather mow the lawn than shovel snow ... any day! When is your Galaxy Panama cruise scheduled?

Funny post Princess!! icon_eek.gif

Sea days are all about sleeping in, spa treatments, taking a nap (or two), lounging on deck for a while, maybe a triva contest between naps, a leisurely lunch, a trip to the snack bar in the afternoon and a nap before dinner. You get the idea!

November 13. The weather here ought to be tolerable by then. What you experienced in Florida is what we get every day from the beginning of May til (at least) the end of September. A couple of years ago, my wife and I went to Chichen Itza (Yucatan) in the middle of July....except for the ruins it felt just like home.

The real bummer is that we get a few mornings with frost most winters. Just enough so that the hibiscus are stunted and the really flashy tropicals won't grow at all. And the water around here! When you can see it through the green slime, it looks like chocolate milk. The Gulf is no better. The topsoil of half a continent gets dumped into the Gulf by the Mississippi River. Think Amazon Basin, not French Polynesia. All the downsides of the tropics, none of the up.

Newt,

The hosts should be wary of where they tread, for I foresee a rebellion should they take away the wit and humor of our Newt! icon_eek.gif

A perfect sea day???

Nothing that makes me have to think...

Any activity that offers a free drink..

If it has to be done at a certain time...forget it...time does not exist on a sea day... unless it offers a free drink, that is. icon_cool.gif
