williamsk Posted March 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Hi, I usually like sampling local fare for lunch in port. Would any experienced cruisers be able to recommend good spots for Alaska? I am not limiting it to specific ports because I am sure that there are others out there with slightly different ports of call that are interested in the same information. Also, if you can include a suggested dish and rough price range I would be very grateful. Thanks for your help, Katie
flashdog_1 Posted March 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2010 In Juneau, right on the dock, if you happen to dock in town where about 3 ships do so, there is a Crab Shack (don't remember if that is the exact name) where extremely fresh crab is cooked for you to dip in butter. It was about $25 (we split one order). We noticed officers from the ship were placing orders, so figured it was as good as we'd read about. paylady Posted March 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2010 I believe you are referring to Tracy's Crab Shack.
magandab Posted April 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2010 In Ketchikan, again right on the dock, is a shack that sells fish and chips. We shared an order of the halibut F&S and it was, bar none, the best we've ever eaten.
