Willcar Posted March 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2010 Anyone been to Dominica lately and can comment on river water level for the river tubing excursion? We're on the Ruby in three weeks and have signed up for the river tubing. However, we have read several places that the water is so low -- and the travel form the pier so long -- that it's a very unenjoyable excursion, including having to walk some of the river bed. TorontoTL Posted March 22, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 22, 2010 We did the river tubing in Dominica in Feb. 2010 while on the Caribbean Princess. They are having a draught which is odd to think of for a place with mostly rain forest. As a result of the draught, the water levels in the rivers are lower than usual. As a result, we were getting stuck on rocks or bumping and bumbs on rocks as we went over the rapids. There were helpers from the excursion there of course to get us unstuck and it was still fun. But I imagine that it would have been even more fun had the water levels been normal and we weren't bumping our asses and getting stuck.
