Better to snorkel in Cozumel or Belize?

I don't want to do two beach days in a row so we're tossing around either Nachi in Cozumel or Bannister in Belize.

Which would be best for snorkeling? I'd rather snorkel in the best place and leave the other port for a relaxing beach day.

Neither place has good shore snorkeling. They can arrange a boat trip out to the reef but the snorkeling at their beaches is yuck. Of these two ports I would pick a boat trip in Belize. The reef is in better shape there.

If you want to snorkel from shore I would pick Chankanaab Park or the Money Bar on Cozumel. The coral isn't very good but you will see plenty of fish at either place. Plus you can take a taxi to either place. Real easy to do on your own.
