Kasupe Posted March 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2010 We just booked a trip on Caribbean Princess on the Emerald deck - outside cabin with obstructed views. Has anyone ever stayed in one of these rooms? How obstructed are the views? Thanks
tlund Posted March 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2010 We had an obstructed view cabin on the Caribbean Princess on January of 2009. The life boats are hung right outside the cabin windows. Depending upon the location of your cabin, you may be at the end of the life boat, meaning you will have a decent side view to the water. However, if you are positioned right smack dab in the middle of the life boat, your view will be right into the life boat, with no view of the water. Basically, those cabins have no view but have some natural light that comes in. Try to pick a cabin at the ends of the life boats or in between two life boats. Those will probably be your best cabins because it will have a side view to the water.
BalconyGal Posted March 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2010 Check the deck plan to see how obstructed each cabin is. The deck plan is usally very accurate.

rdsqrl Posted March 24, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2010 We have the same issue - E511. Can you help me? As stated, go to the deck plans and take a look at the location of your cabin vis-a-vis the lifeboats. . . . It looks like you're in luck, your cabin window appears to be only partially blocked by a tender, so you'll probably have a partial view out out to the left. johnfas Posted March 24, 2010 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2010 we got assigned this one..its on the forward end ...no lifeboats but the promenade deck between the cabin and the water..anybody have any insight on this one There is a thread where a CC member had numerous pictures on rooms with a view. He had a picture of E315 on the Golden which is the room we just had and it was just what we got. A slight obstruction only. E315 is listed as fully obstructed. I would stay in it again. I do not know if all ships are the same room set ups though.
