As the old line goes..."curious minds want to know" How did you find out who the CD was going to be?

Hello, I am new to cruising and will be on a regatta cruise this June. Can you tell me what a cruise director does (sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I really don't know) Also, if you have cruised before on Oceania, can you tell me if there is a laundromat or laundromats aboard? Is that what people do? Or is it like a hotel, and each item is laundered by them for a fee? Thanks for any answers; probably sound like elementary questions to you, but to me, I'm trying to learn, and no newbies will know the answer to this!!

Don't be afraid to ask but you should become familiar with the search feature on this board. You will find many posts about laundry.

French Chef 211,

Don't worry about elementary questions.

We have all been the "new kid" at one time or another.

Q: Can you tell me what a cruise director does?

A: The cruise director is somewhat of a host or hostess for the ship. They organize events, introduce passengers, conduct contests and games, and very often entertain at one or more of the on-board shows.

Q: can you tell me if there is a laundromat or laundromats aboard?

A: There are both self service laundromats AND a laundry service on the ship. The service is more convenient but also more expensive (about the price of a quality laundry service on the East or West coast of the USA).

The Laundromat is token operated (less than $2.00 per machine). You buy the tokens at the front desk. The washers dispense their own soap, but you'll need to bring sheets for the dryer if you use them for fabric softening.

Hope this helped~

Thank you so much; this response was most helpful and answered both questions. I really appreciate it.
