Private Tours in Myknos & Rhodes

You should take a look at the ports/Europe/Greece board where we deal with this type of question. But, in Mykonos taking a tour is a real waste of money since the island is known primarily for Mykonos Town (you simply use your feet to walk here), some excellent beaches (Paradise is my favorite and can be reached by a cheap bus from Mykonos Town) and Delos (a nearby island) which is known for its ruins and should be visited by a tour if you like ruins. Many ships will offer a tour to Delos and let those tour folks off the ship before they get to Mykonos. The tour then takes your through the ruins and later takes you over to Mykonos town, via a boat, where you catch-up to your ship. As to Rhodes, it is too complicated to deal with here so please take a look at the port/europe/greece forum and do a search.

Thanks for all the information. I am torn as to whether to have this be a less structured day and do Old Town and possibly some time at the beach nearby. As you say, with the family of four, it makes you the group to do just as you wish. I understand Rhodes is lovely.
