formal evening

Just about anything on the main pool deck which should include the buffet or the outdoor grills. I don't think the specialty restaurants are formal but the RCL board would be the best place to get a definitive answer on that.

On RCI, you can go anywhere you want. Even to the dining room, although no shorts!!! Yes...you may be in the minority, but it's not a "law"...it's a dress suggestion...most follow it to a degree.

The specialty restaurants are "smart casual" EVERY night...even on "formal" night.

On Holland America, all of the specialty restaurants are formal on formal night, but the buffet is always informal -- just for people who don't wish to get all gussied up. It is likely the same on RCL, but the suggestion to check their boards is probably best for a definitive answer.

Well said although it is likely to give "The Clothes Police" fits!;)

where do you go on formal eve on the ios if you dont eish to dress formal.please dont tell us to stay in our cabin

You will not be banished to your cabin on formal night for not dressing formal. It's your vacation. Go and do as your please. Just don't were shorts or T Shirts into the main dining. Men at least wear long pants and a collared shirt. Women were a pair of comfortable slacks and a nice blouse. Be comfortable. Remember it's your vacation and you're probably never going to see any of your cruise mates again anyway. Just enjoy.
