teen club question

we sailed ncl before and my dd did the teen club but she seems to remember kids younger than the listed age restrictions in there. How do they know if kids are truly with-in age limits? Do they have them show keycards? We want to know cause her bf is comng but he is 18 and knows he can't do teen club which stinks considering he just turned 18 and is still in high school, but they want rationale why younger kids can break the rules., so I said I would ask.

I really think your daughter is mistaken. NCL is pretty strict on the ages for the kids/teens club. The teen group does begin at 13, so to an older teen that may seem quite young.

I would recommend that your teen does sign up for the group as the teens seem to hang out together outside of the official group. That would give her and her boyfriend the opportunity to meet new friends.

thank you but she remembers the one girl was 12 and was very vocal that she got in. Her boyfriend can't go to club he's 18 now, which personally if they are still in high school I feel they should be able to do the club, but I don't make the rules, we just follow them. Does anyone remember if they are carded though, my dd doesn't remember. We are gonna ask them if he can join but we are expecting a no, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Guess I'm getting out of touch. I chose my SN back when the kids were kids. Now they are passed the teen group age and I guess things have changed. Sorry did mean to give you bad info. Back when my kids were in their early teens NCL was strict.

Again, based on "back in the day," the youth group staff had the cruise roster with the ages of all the kids.

NCL is VERY strict with their age limits. Period. They will not allow the 18yr old boyfriend in the club. When their are family activities, he may be able to join the fun, but only if you are there. Family activities are just that, family. It is good to know that she understands that if you ask for him to join the club, NCL will (more than likely) say no. If they say he can join it will be a surprise.:o

I Have read some of the kids club programs, and often times they have times when the next group down, the 10-12 year olds are let into the teen area for an hour or two, but usually this is part of the schedule. I don't think I would want my young child in the teen club when there are 18 year olds there, too big of an age difference.

Also late nite party time may allow a cross of ages. This is so only a few adult supervisors need be there. It also depends on time of year and how many kids there are.

RCCL put all the kids together one night when going to Hawaii for a show that was going on. They had 10 kids at the time (there was a total of 30 on board including four babies that were to young for the kids clubs).

All cruise lines will strictly enforce their published age restrictions for the most important reason, liability. If anything untoward happens that involves someone outside the age parameters, cruise line knows they may be looking lawsuit straight in the face.

I have been a teenager on many cruises and now i'm 22 going on my 8th cruise in may!

18 year olds will not be allowed to get into the Teen program or the teen club even if he is in highschool!

Under 18 year olds will not be allowed into the adult night club after 10 pm(usually on most ships). Your daughter's boyfriend will be allowed in but not her. The trick is to get into the adult night club before the Id checker is there.. this is usually sometime before 10 pm... Chill out there for a while and by 11 the music kicks in. We did this on my last cruise to sneak in a few under 18 year olds on the last night of the cruise and it worked great!

Unfortunately the 18 year old boyfriend will not be able to get into the teens club and most cruise lines are very strict about this!

Younger people were mixed in the dance club till they called it out I .We were there and one night my 15 yr old daughter was dancing with my 20 yr old who looks 16.They stayed another hour or so then split up.My kid was watching in the casino and asked if she could sit down the first night the dealer said she had to go.Mums the word be cool don't ask foolish questions and don't try to sneak a adult into a teen club.Go the other way if something happens in the teen club(fight, accusations, you can figure it out)The laws for a 18 year old are different.Be safe , be cool ,your daughter has a 18 year old boyfriend she can dance in the regular club it was great or hangout by the pool.I felt my girls were safe on board in Nassau I stuck close.
