gingerspike Posted April 7, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2010 Please help. I'm getting ready to book and was hoping someone could advise on whether a port side or starboard side cabin is best for this cruise? thanks, Kelly
kitty9 Posted April 7, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2010 As far as ports, it really doesn't matter because you don't know how the ship will pull into a port. When you're doing the Antarctic part, the captain will turn about, allowing both sides to see everything. But, when you're cruising the Antarctic, you really want to be out on the main decks so you can hear the naturalist.
Rare brazilgirl Posted April 7, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2010 I was on this cruise on January of this year. There really is no difference as you will be doing turn abouts ( as Kitty9 explains above) and in other ports , there really is no difference between one side or the other. Although we spent a lot of time on the main deck , we also really enjoyed our balcony when we got cold on deck. You could hear the naturalists if you turned your t.v on and tuned into channel 19. These were all taken on our balcony ...we were in stateroom 7202. You are going to have an unforgettable experience! Kim

smeyer418 Posted April 8, 2010 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2010 I was on the February 28th cruise. We had a starboard side veranda. But when we got to the cape the Captain instead of traveling with the port side towards the Cape did a starboard side run so in other words you never know which will be the best all the time.
