Drop Off at NY Cruise Terminal

Anyone know if private cars can drop off at street level bus drop, or can we be dropped off near that drop and walk in to the porters? Want to see if we have the option of avoiding the ramp - more than one ship in port the day we leave.

I'm sure that it's possible - you'll have to wait for the New Yorkers for the details. However, there have been discussions on this forum about taking a cab up 12th Ave. and being dropped off across the street from the pier and walking in to avoid paying the cab to wait in the traffic congestion. Some folks even have said that they walked from their hotel to the pier.

You won't have any problem at all if they are two ships in port. We have left from the Manhattan Cruise Ship Terminal with a pair of ships in port and we were able to pull up to the terminal, unload our bags with ease.

It's much easier to take a cab to the upper ramp than crossing 12th avenue with luggage and then dealing with the heavy security down below.

Have a great cruise.

private cars drop off on the first level up the ramp not on the ground floor level. The guards will send you up the ramp. It generally isn't that bad and the way to get in ground floor or first floor is the same entrance area. You are generally looking at a maximum of about 10 minutes once on the ramp.

As others have said you can drop your passengers across the street and then they can walk....I'll wait the 10 minutes and drop them off in front....
