Island, Hawaii: Port or Starboard?

we were also port side and enjoyed looking over the docks we stayed in c334 and our balcony was a double wide half covered. I mention this because the other concern on this cruise is amount of wind that will be blowing on you if you have a balcony. By booking port side we had a lot less wind on our side of the ship on the way to Hawaii. It seemed about the same on both sides on the return trip. We missed a bit of scenery but really enjoyed our balcony. It is true that the starboard side will pass by the volcano in our case at about 10:00 pm but we went out to deck seven and watched comfortably from there. Unfortunately it was raining so we only saw a few glimpses of red glow. This is too short of a period of time to make it your only consideration. I personally thought port was the best choice (silly things like we got great pictures of our cabin from shore and when we arrived in LA we knew how long of an immigration line we were in for :) If you are not in a big hurry to get off the ship you can look out your balcony and wait for the crowds to die down a bit. But I have never read any extensive postings from anyone that was starboard so I am not sure what we missed.

Help!!! You all confused me more... almost looks like I need to book one cabin port and one starboard! YIKES... any other info that may sway me? Does Starboard get to see ANY ports? Will Starboard miss the lei dancers on the docks? Is Starboard windier?
