Seward Embarkation Time - HAL

DENNSDMNCE

Recommended Posts

Our family of three will be traveling independently to Seward to board the HAL Statendam in May. Does anyone know what time HAL starts the boarding process? The ship isn't scheduled to depart until 8pm and our train is scheduled to arrive just after 11am. Will we be able to drop off our luggage at noon or earlier?

Also, has anyone experienced catching a taxi from the Alaska Railroad train station in Seward to the cruise ship terminal? I can't imagine that Seward has many taxis and was wondering how hard would it be to catch a ride. We're traveling with a toddler and four pieces of luggage so walking - though possible - might be inconvenient.

Thanks for your help.

You should be able to start boarding around noon. A HAL bus will make continuous loops between the train station and the ship. It really is walkable; it is that close! Once on board and you have had lunch, hop back on the free bus and take a ride into town to see the Sea Life Center. YOu will have plenty of time and it is a great place for a toddler!
