palamoh Posted April 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2010 We are booked on an Asian Cruise w/China being the main itinerary. I know that China request visitors to have a Chinese VISA, Does Azamara assist in obtaining the Visa or do they require passengers to aquire it on their own? Albert Ross Posted April 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2010 No it is totally your responsibility to secure the Chinese visa and remember it must cover every port you enter so you may need a Double Entry or Multiple Entry visa. HK doesn't count.
palamoh Posted April 15, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted April 15, 2010 Thanks Albert, I was beginning to wonder if anyone on Azamara had ever traveled to Asia. (China);)
tommui987 Posted April 15, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2010 We had been on the Azamara Quest which sailed from Hong Kong - stayed there for four days prior to the sailing - in February of this year and we did go on the Viking River Cruise which essentially covered Beijing, Xian, the Yangtze River and Shanghai. We will be on the Quest (again!) next March which will cover three or so ports in China. And as it is a cruise with multiple entries into China, you will need to get a Chinese visa. There are services on-line to obtain the visa unless you reside in a city where there is a Chinese consulate that issues them - or in D.C. at the Chinese Embassy. You do not need a visa if your trip is solely in Hong Kong.
