Boarding and late sailing time

We are going to be on the Sea Princess in a few weeks from Barbados to Fort Lauderdale. The ship sails at 8PM. After we check in and board in the afternoon can we leave the ship and return later? I would like to board early in the afternoon to drop off our hand baggage and then go spend some more time in Barbados. Just wondering if this is allowed and if it's more of a hassle than it's worth.

Thanks,

Wendy

No problem at all getting back off for the afternoon. Just make sure to keep an eye on the time and be back onboard at the time specified before sailing (they will have a sign at the gangway), usually about 30 minute to an hour before the actual sailing time. Enjoy!

Thanks for the responses. That's probably what we will do. We're both looking forward to the cruise and our day in Barbados. We would have spent a few days there before the cruise, but we are actually on the Royal until the day before this cruise.
