Tipping for Stingray city

We are taking a private tour (Dexter's Fantasea Tour) to Stingray City while we are in Grand Cayman. Do we need to tip Dexter at the end of the tour even though we have paid for the trip? I have trouble figuring out when it is appropriate in this types of situations.

yes, tip is appropriate there were 2 of us I tipped $10.

For good or better service I tip about 10% of the cost of the excursion. Good luck!:)
