Total EPIC Trip

Just curious but are some of you who are booked on NCL's Epic, leaving out of Miami, also booked or are thinking about booking the new Epic Hotel as well?

We booked a 2-night pre-cruise room at the Epic Hotel from LMT, prior to our Epic cruise for a total EPIC experience. A brand new ship = a brand new hotel = I can hardly wait:D!

Just had a look at website.

Very nice, thanks think I shall book this.

You can get a really good rate from LMT (lastminutetravel). We booked a city view which goes for $300/night off season, $400/night season, for $167/night. If you want to see the Epic coming into port, a water view is $223/night on LMT.

The Epic Hotel was closed for a while shortly after opening. They had a problem with Legionnaires' disease

When federal officials alerted the Miami-Dade Health Department that three tourists who visited Miami had contracted Legionnaires' disease, investigations quickly led to a luxurious new hotel/condo development in downtown Miami.

Now, after a week of confusion, twists and turns, Epic Hotel & Residences still can't say when its hotel guests will return, and health officials are still trying to figure out whether the Epic's high-tech water filtration system was the source of the culprit bacteria or whether the hotel is only the victim of bad luck and timing.

All rooms have a balcony and all rooms begin on the 18th floor. We also have an aft balcony on the ship so, this should be a great Epic land and sea trip. You can check out the rooms on youtube - they are the BOMB!

Had no idea this hotel even existed. Where have I been??

Nevertheless, we're booked at The Strand for the two nights prior to our cruise. Never spent any time in South Beach before so we're looking forward to it. Plus, it's on the beach, and in the heart of the Art Deco area, with tons to do. Can't wait!
