Traffic at Cape Liberty

What would be the best time to arrive Sunday May 9th so we don't hit much traffic? We are on the Celebrity Summit, our TA said boarding time wasn't until 1:00 pm, if we arrive earlier can we board? Thanks!

I sail the Explorer from Bayonne and like to arrive between 10:30 and 11. The traffic is unpredictable. However, we've done it 4 times and have never waited in the traffic line for more than 20 minutes and usually much less. We come prepared with books and magazines and have our minds set that we will have to wait either in the traffic line or in the terminal. Still a thousand times better than any airport.

If you arrive between 10:30 and 11 and all goes well, you should be in the terminal by 11:30. Usually boarding starts at 12, but we've boarded as early as 11:30 and as late as 12:30. However, there are seats and they provide coffee, tea, and cookies.
