Injuries after ship avoids Buoy

Recommended Posts

CNN claims there were ~2,340 passengers on the Ecstasy, but Carnival lists the guest capacity at 2056

CNN's likely counting 3rd and 4th passenger berths in cabins (the actual number of passengers on the ship). I'm reasonably sure that the 2056 is just lower berths number.

Capacity rating is based on two people per stateroom. The fact is that many if not all cabins can accommodate more than two people. The legal limit is probably about 2900 for a Fantasy class ship such as Ecstasy.

Shouldn't the injured people get some compensation from Carnival in the form of a future cruise credit & or OBC ,since it was no fault of their own to incur the injuries ?

They did get something, fast and free medical attention.

they said during earnings once they had averaged 103% capacity, which is for all their ships I guess, so some were way over and some under.

If the ship is less than 100% sold out, CCL calls up a hurricane and cancels the cruise. Everybody knows that.:p
