stavy Posted April 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2010 We are getting off the river royale in arles and are flying out of nice early the next morning. We don't want to spend the entire time we have on a train...Any suggestions? R
alexandra cruiser Posted April 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2010 But if you do,,,be sure to find a hotel in Nice that has parking, can be a problem ..very conjested .... Of course, train would be faster,,,,we took bus from Avalon cruise from Arles to Nice and took about 3 hrs.or move....we stopped for rest breaks..Sure train would beat that....whatever you chose its a lovely area to sightsee....envy you....took cruise last June and loved it....:)
Condocat Posted April 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted April 24, 2010 The train will be your best option, definitely faster than driving. You can catch the train right off the ship in easy walking distance to the train station in Arles and take it to Marseilles. From the Marseilles train station, take the fastest train to Nice. You will see beautiful countryside and coastline along the way. Check www.raileurope.com to check schedules for the fastest trains to shorten your journey. You can even buy your tickets in advance, which is a good idea. Rail travel in France is very easy and enjoyable. Good luck with your decisions!
