Which parties do they have?

I read a while back that they were considering doing away with the captain's cocktail party in lieu of a party on the last night of the cruise. Has this happened? Are there still free drinks if so?

'it' has happened. captain's 'reception' now is typically held in all promenade bars, which vary per ship, and drinks are 1.00 off...

 

replaced by 'farewell' party on the last night... with free drinks for an hour.

 

past guest party, for sailings 5+ days, is intact.

If you want to see the introductions of the ship's officers, they are done in the atrium around 7:45

IMHO the capt's party was nice now the whole thing is a waste of time.

 

Farewell party is nice but you got to watch for it as it is not very well publicized.

Coincidence the farewell party is a few hours before you get your alcohol delivered to your room if you bought alcohol from the ship store or from a port...
